You have to be really stupid to listen to Hybrid Theory (Linkin park's first album) and then buy this thinking there won't be any rapping verses. I bought the Hybrid Theory album as soon as I could when it was released. Good mastering... crisp/clear highs, solid lows and a good sound stage. Meteora was also ranked number 36 on Billboards Top 200 Albums of the Decade. However, I did not buy Meteora at the time because the singles had such heavy radio play that I did not feel the need to. This album had 2 stars and as I looked through the reviews I thought it must of been people moaning about Amazon for one reason or another.
The loss-less audio on the CD is an improvement over the online download. As of 2013, the album has sold over 20 million copies worldwide, and is certified six times platinum by the RIAA. Along with "HT", this has also been my favorite album, but I for some weird reason never cared to buy it (and I actually bought "Minutes to Midnight" back when that came out).
I began liking Linkin Park around 2007, and Meteora is absolutely their best effort (in my opinion). Chester is deeply missed.
Clearly, the original recording is not what it could have been (I'm not sure why, but the low end frequencies of this recording are lacking). The name Meteora was derived from a rock formation in Greece, which has a monastery perched on top of it.
