The Barrack's is great for parking and the Cinema lets you park free or at the least with discounted rates if you see a movie in its entirety. The other thing for me is that is super important at the movies is leg room.

Tickets are super cheap compared to other major cinemas.The foyer has wonderful views over Brisbane CBD which is amazing.They have this movie pass you can buy which makes tickets really cheap and you get invited to special events.Chairs in the foyer need replacing but the cinema itself has very comfortable and roomy seats. I love that Palace Barracks plays host to a number of different film festivals during the year, and also has some special limited screenings for National Theatre/Opera productions. Forget the frozen Coke, popcorn has a new best friend!Other facets that will appeal to the more mature movie watcher are the fact that they screen not just standard Hollywood fare but also participate in international film festivals and give coverage to more art-house film.

The barracks could accommodate 2,500 men and was equipped with a gymnasium and a cinema which was named the Globe Cinema, operated by the Army Kinema Corporation. Get in early, though, as they take their time (around 6 weeks) to get a card. The Palace Barracks definitely wins for better seating and nice facilities! And it would help if the website understood the Festival Pass tickets. Note Palace Cinemas does not own or run the carpark. It is, hands down, the best thing I've ever subscribed to, but I am a bit of a filmie, let's admit it. There is not much to complain about this place, it is clean, has comfortable seats and offers a nice selection of films. Comfortable seats, rarely. Patrons can now enjoy a newly renovated foyer and cinema space with luxurious furniture, ambient mood lighting and soft furnishings throughout the venue.
