attack of the puppet people full movie

It doesn't have the greatest story or acting or effects, but it has heart. So badly in fact that he invented a machine purely to shrink people down to doll-size so he can keep them as pets. Included in the cast is Laurie Mitchell, the "Queen of Outer Space" (1958), giving a good performance as do the others. A letter carrier, Ernie Larson (Jamie Forster) drops off mail while a Brownie troop waits for the elevator. As Sally delves deeper, involving the police, Franz takes steps to ensure her silence, and before she knows what's hit her, Sally joins the special collection of dolls. Just leave us a message here and we will work on getting you verified. I suppose that Attack of the Doll People just didn't sound as scary(?).

Coming Soon. We only see six of the dozen victims walking around, strangely complacent until the indignant Bob gets them to wake up to their predicament and attempt to escape. Now for the most part this film is (as already touched upon) slightly misleading. | Rating: C It is an inferior film in every way to the impressive Dr. Cyclops made with Albert Dekker the previous decade. The police investigate on several leads and a drama starts. Get the freshest reviews, news, and more delivered right to your inbox! I mean come on! What you get is the small team of shrunken people chatting about their tiny lifestyle, how they kinda like it, discussing the pros and cons and eventually discussing escape. There are no approved quotes yet for this movie.

The two newcomers are greeted by four others, all kept in suspended animation without air in their individual tubes.

Franz is able to shrink people with a machine that uses audio waves to break things down into energy matter. I had an appetite for these movies when they were coming out at the local movie theater. Hoyt is fine as the pitiable & awkward old toymaker, but the supportive cast is too underdeveloped and bleak. I also liked Bert I. Gordon's blatant nod to his other movie 'The Amazing Colossal Man' during this film, which, I might add, is the second bloody time he's done that! To demonstrate, he pours a saucer of milk and calls for his cat, Tommy. Finally Franz gets Sally alone and "Poof"!

I did like The Amazing Colossal Man and Village of the Giants(from seeing them on TV way back then to Mystery Science Theater 3000).They were guilty pleasures and still are. What made me upset or disappointed(depending on how you look at it)was that John Agar and June Kenny didn't shrink the old man,put him in one of those tubes and take him to the police.Too predictable, perhaps??

The special effects are very good for the time period. We want to hear what you have to say but need to verify your email. Franz brings out Bob and a bunch of others that he has shrunk. and as a fantasy element (so the size of an object caught on camera is proportional to the projector's distance from the screenÂ…but what exact bearing does this have on the re-assembling of atoms from one place to the other?!). Little does she know that Franz is more than a doll maker. Now, this is a strange little man. Plot Keywords

I mean lets be honest here, surely most people would be able to tell a real human being from a doll??

One can see the necessity of preventing his various young secretaries from leaving, but what could be his connection to a teenage boy and active Marine? I have always liked John Hoyt. John Agar plays the man who has fallen in love with Hoyt's newest blonde bombshell secretary.

The whole crux of this movie is Franz and his loneliness, he is a sad elderly character whose wife left him many many years prior which seems to have affected his mental state badly.

He had no science or "Attack of the Puppet People" is a fairly forgettable and poor film, but it's slightly better and more stylish than most of the things B.I.G accomplished and at least it's never boring. Now monsters aren't present (unless you count a giant cat and a giant rat), but the special effects are great! But at first they say they were angry with Franz for shrinking them, which is natural, so surely anyone would have simply run off, very easy to disappear at that size. But I guess the biggest mystery of this movie is the fact that we don't find out what happens to the other shrunken people. Very silly film has lousy special effects but thats the charm to these movies. On a more critical note: Technically they aren't puppets at all, but I suspect that "Attack of the Doll People" didn't sound quite as scary or threatening. As I've noted in a couple of other films, puppets can be fairly creepy little things. budget sci-fi film and the film really doesn't build to an exciting climax. I guess the moral of the tale could be, always be yourself, don't try to force people into friendships, and errr...don't shrink them down to the size of a doll and keep them as pets either. I guess we are meant to think they eventually get found and enlarged, but who knows, maybe a rat ate them all. In the end you actually feel sorry for Franz when his little people escape and regain control of the machine, returning back to their regular sizes. Franz claims that he models his dolls after people he has known, but his latest secretary Sally (June Kenney) grows highly suspicious after her fiance disappears and a doll turns up looking just like him. He is well known within his field, held in high regard, his dolls are famous for their detail, their overall craftsmanship. We open with a cityscape and busy traffic dissolving to a lobby newsstand in an office building. But here we've got a bunch of little people, thanks to doll-maker Franz (John Hoyt). Mr. Franz keeps his little friends asleep in tubes, but also does his best to entertain them with tiny dance parties, the newest Barbie & Ken outfits and even trips to the 'Jekyl & Hyde' marionette-theater. John Hoyt offers more substance to the role than is there in the script, a sketchy European background working with old friend Emil, another latter day performance from Michael Mark, father of Little Maria in the 1931 "Frankenstein." BIG never made films as good or subversive as Roger Corman, but BIG made a lot of super-cheap films in a short time that made money, provided employment for actors, and provided material for drive-in theaters. Toward the latter part of the decade, nothing was too wild to hit this lucrative market, and this engaging picture stands up to the test of time. I wish he was better known to to-day's audiences. For starters there is no attacking by the shrunken people, and they aren't really puppet people either, they are specifically referred to as dolls throughout. You know we never do learn just how the machine that shrinks folks to doll like Paterson (Jack Kosslyn) who is interested because others have disappeared who been in contact with Franz. Coming Soon.
