Billy Gibbons remembered: ‘Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell were these tiny, frail Englishmen with this wild man fronting the act.’ They later fell out when he enlarged the band without telling them.

The interviewees are top-notch and well-know people like Paul McCartney, who gets teary-eyed remembering when he first saw Jimi play, David Fricke from Rolling Stone Magazine, Chas Chandler, all the Experience and Band of Gypsies, and one of the best was Eddie Kramer, the recording engineer he used.
Hendrix producer/engineer Eddie Kramer commented to Toronto's The Globe and Mail: "It shows a complete at-oneness with his instrument.Jimi had a thought in his mind, and in a nanosecond it gets through his body, through his heart, through his arms, through the fingers, onto the guitar." Jimi’s friend, Paul Caruso, says, ‘He never let on that he was broke, but he was certainly scuffling in the Village.’.
