The movie’s consistently grave tone sometimes threatens to suffocate the dramatic momentum, but Macneill overcomes some of the more lethargic stretches by constructing an immersive audiovisual experience in which Ted’s mindset dominates nearly each scene. Ted is a cute little blond boy, who caught an acute case of sociopathy, he's fascinated with death and very weird young man. You reap what you sow with kids. It's not entirely original, but it is well-made, and it could catch on with teen horror-hounds. It was so agonizing to witness a child grow up in such an isolated and deserted place.
