Tara's favorite taunt seems to be threatening to cut off people's testicles, doing so to both. She then informs Magna’s group that they’ll have to wait for Jesus to return before deciding on their future, but they can stay until he gets back. Later, Tara sits on a crane and radios Rick to update him on the walker distraction plan, before radioing Jerry, so he could turn on a siren. Eugene walks in and he is overjoyed to see Tara awake, and Tara is happy to see that Eugene still has his hair and they embrace.

While at the small river Rosita suggests to catch some fish so the group go back to where the walkers were stuck underneath the telephone pole and Tara finds a backpack, which she takes with her back to the lake. They get in position and remind themselves to watch for the Whisperers. He is smiling and Tara said she's never seen that before. In the Kingdom, Tara watches from the crowd as Ezekiel declares they’ve finally accomplished Rick, Carl, and Jesus' dreams of reuniting the communities.
Tara also voices her concern about not helping the other communities, as she doesn't want the Saviors to appear as an enemy.
Rick asks if they are trying to become their enemies, but John responds that they are just trying to send a message. She reaches the front gate and is met by a broken Eugene. On the bridge, as Rick limps away before collapsing, he hallucinates as Tara and the others rush past him to kill the walkers. Out of bullets, the pair are then saved by Abraham, Eugene, Rosita, Maggie, Sasha, and Bob Stookey, who have now converged and joined forces. She reveals she’s leaving tomorrow to look for Eugene and that he needs to stay. He tells Tara that Maggie will know what to do with them.
Later, during the night after the reanimated residents were turned and killed, Tara sits on a bed surrounded by Enid, Rosita, and others. Glenn insists he needs to see the faces of the walkers to ensure none of them are Maggie and Tara helps. Once they are back at Alexandria, Aaron and Tobin inform them Gabriel disappeared with most of their food and weapons. Dwight dispatches it before the group heads forward. Later, with the newly formed group deciding on their next move, Tara agrees to go with Abraham to D.C. after they reach Terminus. She explains that she was in training to become a police officer before "the crap hit the fan." Later, in the Kingdom, Siddiq delivers the tragic news to the crowd, tells them how brave everyone was in their final moments and how they all fought back. Natania refuses. When the group is later in the church and eating, Tara reveals to Maggie she was with the Governor and involved in the attack.
Tara notices Denise being reluctant to help a dying Holly. Later, a Scavenger watches Tara as she helps set up a blockade outside the gate. Rosita says that Dwight wants to help. A day after the attack on the Hilltop, Tara meets with Daryl and she tells him she isn't sick and that Dwight shot her with a clean arrow. The four of them run back towards the truck to help Eugene fight off walkers.

In the present, at Hilltop, Tara listens as Alpha and the Whisperers wait for them to bring Lydia to her. The next day, Daryl, Michonne, Carol, Siddiq, and Yumiko find the border and watch in horror at the victims, a reanimated Tara being among them. TWD-908-25.jpg She is removed from battle as the militia manages to drive the Saviors out. Tara is later seen watching Nicholas as she learns of his involvement in Noah's death. In front of the gate, Alpha leads a group of Whisperers. When two Saviors try to escape, Tara manages to kill one of them and wounds the other. Maxresdefault-800x450.jpg Gabriel then tells her he thinks she's a good leader and she knows it. Jesus tells Tara to ensure no one gets the chance to do that. As they sweep the station, Jesus and Tara discover a Savior named Dean cowering in a closet, having seemingly peed himself in fear. They eventually arrive at the bridge and Cyndie refuses to leave until Tara safely crosses.
She does not approve of how they string up walkers and when they try to recapture one that gets loose she nearly gets bit when the walker turns around and attacked her, but Glenn kills it. Tara appears to be a highly trusted confidant of Sherry, and the two appear to be close friends. The Saviors, including Tara, arrive at Alexandria and get into a fight with Dwight, Laura, and Heath.
Meanwhile, Morgan continues his killing spree, before finally emerging outside.
Tara recounts how she had waited before telling Rick about Oceanside and their weapon cache, showing regret at the fact that she had not informed him earlier, which could have helped better their situation. Tara realizes that Lydia lied about it just being her mother out there and decides they should go back to Hilltop until they find out what this is. Luke offers his help and goes out with Alden.

Tara’s face falls. At the end of the episode, Tara says her goodbyes to the others as she and Heath head off on their run. When the bus starts burning Tara suggests finding some bikes because they don't burn.
Alpha says no and promises if they don’t bring her Lydia there will be conflict. After the war with the Saviors ended, Tara and Rosita deliver supplies to the Sanctuary, where they greet Tanya and Frankie while Saviors are rebuilding their compound. To their surprise Cyndie and the Oceansiders ambush the Saviors with Molotov cocktails, preventing a battle. She explains that she is not going to wait again and is willing to follow with Daryl's plan, with or without Rosita. Tara is first seen chatting with Alisha while Alisha is getting a cut treated by Lilly.
He informs everyone about the walkers gathering outside of the walls. Later he and Tara get in a truck and crash into Zia’s vehical killing her. Picking up the knife, he and Tara head towards the zombies. She is the daughter of David, the younger sister of Lilly, and the aunt of Meghan. They decide to wait until the Alexandrians have killed most of them, and then go to help to clean up whats left. Alpha explains they’re animals and “animals have babies.” Suddenly, a couple of whisperers bring up a tied up Alden and Luke. Tara questions how this happened. Abraham calls Tara a good person for going with Glenn and then says that saving the world is more important. Two girls approach, the younger ready to kill her. Tara lies and says she was travelling with a friend who had worked with her on a fishing boat.
When a lone walker appears above in the tower and almost falls on top of Eugene, Tara is pushed out of the way by a protective Abraham and injures her knee. She nods. 2018-04-18 (9).png The group argues, but eventually resolves to push forward. Tara appears in the train car at Terminus when Rick, Carl, Michonne, and Daryl Dixon enter.

Tara accompanies the group to the Kingdom, where they are reunited with Morgan and meet Ezekiel. When the fighting begins, she ducks behind the tank and vehicles, showing that she is uncomfortable with the assault.
