I've read many of the other books in this series and was hopeful this book would be good, but it didn't deliver. Please try your request again later. I was especially reminded of Lost Lady, Sweetbriar, and Eternity.
Another book in the Edilean series and, frankly, there are so many of them that I cannot keep track of where exactly this book falls chronologically on the list (Goodreads states it's #2). That is, until he is captivated by Edilean Talbot. There's lots of action and while the story begins in England it ends in America and we see a lot of historical US in this story. Despite all that tries to keep them apart, Angus and Edilean also find a love as wild and free as the land itself. I was curious about this novel since I read Scarlet Nights which is the following novel in the series. This was a book I grabbed to read on the plane at the airport. There they discover almost insurmountable obstacles, and a love as wild and free as the land itself. I'm giving this 3 stars as in "I liked it" but not more than 3 stars. I really liked the characters and the foundation of the core families of Edilean. This is the most ridiculous story I've ever read (and I've read my share of cheesy romance), Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 27, 2016.
