Galway is a small city on the west coast of Ireland. Nearest airports are in Knock and Shannon, though most visitors arrive at Dublin Airport before making their way down to Galway.

Apart from public transport, you can also rent a car (check out the airport websites for more information) – remember though, that in Ireland the driving is on the LEFT Side and all the Cars have a right hand side steering wheel.
Arriving in Dublin
BUS Commute from Dublin Airport
(Recommended Option with Free WiFi on Board and Toilet)
There are Express Bus coach services from Dublin Airport / Dublin City to Galway. At Terminal 1 Arrivals Hall, follow the signs to Car Park and cross the car park building (on your left you should see a grocery store, pass it and leave the building behind you) on the second bay on your right hand side you will find GOBUS and CITY LINK stops.
Both bus companies run on an hourly basis during the day, thus you have a coach traveling to Galway City every 30 minutes approximately, some of them are direct while others make one stop in Dublin City before continuing to Galway City. Check timetables (for CityLink, for GoBus) for your best option. (If you arrive in Terminal 2 follow the signs to Terminal 1and go to Arrivals hall.)
Tickets can be booked online or pay on board to the driver
Round tickets are cheaper than Single and have an open return.
Coming by train
(This option is not recommended unless you arrive with enough time to transfer to Heuston Train Station)
There are no trains directly from Dublin Airport to Galway City. Therefore you need to transfer by bus from the airport to Heuston Train Station, which takes approx 55 min.
Airlink 747 Route
The 747 Route departs from Dublin Airport Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and connects the airport with a number of popular tourist destinations in Dublin including Heuston Station.
Tickets on the 747 route cost €10 for a return adult ticket and €5.00 for a return child ticket. Single tickets for adults cost €6.00 and €3.00 for children. Tickets can be purchased from vending machines within the airport, or from the Bus & Rail information counter located within the airport.

Arriving in Shannon
Bus Commute
There are scheduled bus services from Shannon Airport to Galway City provided by Bus Éireann’s ExpressWay service which offers two connections via Shannon Limerick-Galway return and Cork-Galway return.
There are no train connections from Shannon to Galway.
Arriving in Knock / Ireland West Int. Airport

There are bus services from Ireland West International Airport to Galway City provided by Bus Éireann.
There are no train connections from Knock Airport to Galway.
